2015 has been an amazing year for this blog! Each month I continue to grow and learn more about the blogging process and how to build my community. At the beginning of this year, I set a series of goals for this blog which you can read here. I wanted to check in with myself and my readers to report how much progress I have made towards those goals.
Monthly features For the last 4 months, I have focus on specific topics each month. Here are a few of the features we have written about so far:
- January: Mindfulness & Meditation
- February: Date Night Ideas
- March: 31 Day Blogging Challenge
- April: Spring Cleaning & Organization
- Mary: Hello, Summer!
My blogging challenge forced me to create content for a month in advance and complete posts for each day. I really enjoyed the challenge and plan on doing another challenge later this year!
Post frequency Having a full-time job on top of a party-time blog can prove challenging for post frequency. I would love to post every day but am limited to 3-4 times a week. I like this post frequency now because I am starting out and starting to build a niche. I try to stick to a M, W, F post schedule but will occasionally throw in a spur of the moment post or a special post like I did on Mother’s Day a few weeks ago.
Branding/Building a Brand Since this blog is still in its first year, I am learning to build it into a brand. I love to read other bloggers who have successfully determined their brand and how they got to that point.
Networking This one is a fun goal and one that I feel I have already made some leeway on! I have grown my small Twitter following and become a part of the SITS Blogging community. Last month, I participated in their Social Media Workshop which included Link-Up parties in which bloggers could link their social media accounts and blog sites on to. I met a group of amazing and talented bloggers who I can learn from and look up to.
