2016 was a transitional year for Some Shananagins. What started as a hobby blog has turned into something I am so passionate about! While I still refuse to profit from this blog, my main goal has always been to share great content but to stay true to who I am and what I love writing about. My blogging goals for this year took my little blog to the next level. Here’s how I did!
Switch from WordPress.com to WordPress.org– 100% Pass! This was the biggest transition for my blog this year and I achieved it in February. I read everywhere that the transition would be hard but with the help of WP Beginner, they were able to help me transition without any issues! I also secured my domain as well with this new switch.
New Blog Design– 100% Pass. As soon as I transitioned to a .org site, I went and found a new design for my blog’s make over. It’s a start as I am still learning blog design. I feel like this design will change as the years go by and I learn more about what I want my blog’s brand to look like.
More Networking– 75% Pass. Thanks to Facebook Groups like Blogger Tribe and Blogging Loft, I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of great bloggers! It’s been a way for me to share my work as well as read other blogs that interest me. I want to keep improving on this through next year and even take it to the next level.
Quality over Quantity with blog posts– 75% Pass. I am still working on this. If I write a post and feel that it doesn’t stand up to the quality that I want, I scratch it. But with anything practice makes perfect! My writing will continue to improve with practice.
I’m pretty proud of the progress I made this year with my blog. I set easily achievable goals and learned new things along the way. Next year’s goals for this blog will continue to build upon the ones I’ve already achieved.
