My personal goals for this year had a lot of progress but also a bit of failure. I won’t lie and say everything was achieved and life is grand! I definitely fell back on a few of these. But the great thing about personal goals is even if you set a deadline you can always be working to achieve them. That’s how I see the goals I failed on this year. It’s a chance to keep working on them! Without further adue, here is how I did with personal goals this year.
Wake Up Early– 50 % Pass. While I am still not a morning person and probably will never be one I did attempt to get up early as much as I could. Over the last few weeks after the time change I found it’s been easier to get up around 6:30p to get ready for work. On the weekends I set the goal to not sleep past 9am and while I succeeded most of the time at this…there were a few days sprinkle in where I slept in later. (See day after nights where we went out late.) This is a goal I still want to maintain to work on next year.
Set Daily Affirmations– 30% Pass. Well, I did great at this until March where I just forgot about it. I try to set intentions and affirmations when I am in my yoga practice but nobody is perfect. I think I will refine this goal into something that is doable.
Get Passport– 100% Pass! This goal was a no brainer to achieve. With our cruise in April I was in a time crunch to obtain my passport. By the second week of February it came in the mail. I am free to travel the world now! (If only I had the funds to do so!)
Bring lunches to work/eat out less– 80% Pass. It’s a well-known fact that I hate leftovers. But this year I trained myself to make meals I enjoyed and could bring leftovers for to work. It worked out pretty well! I set the goal to only eat out once a week if I did. I want to keep up this goal through next year even get to not buying lunch at all for a month if possible. It’s going to be a challenge but I believe I can do it. Think of the money I would save!
Journal More– 40% Pass. It’s pretty challenging to journal every day especially on the busy ones. But I have found that as this year progressed I have turned to journaling more. Writing is therapy for me. Lately I have been writing each and every day.
