“Better to write for yourself and have no public than to write for the public and have no self.” -Cryil Connolly
Some Shananagins is on its second year of being a blog and I’ve got some big blogging goals for it in 2016. Like any blogger I thrive on growth. Being able to create the blog I’ve always wanted while meeting bloggers in the community is more than just a hobby to me. It’s a life. I love writing and I cannot wait to grow this blog into something bigger than my dreams. Here are my blogging goals for this year:
- Switch to wordpress.org platform: I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now. WordPress.org is going to allow me more control and freedom with my blog design. I will enlist in plugins to help build up my blog and put myself out there more.
- New blog design: With WordPress.org also comes a new blog design which is something my blog is in DIRE need of! I want a simple design but something that stands out in the crowd of lifestyle blogs out there. This is going to be a process and a creative one at that! I want to start really defining my style for this blog-one that will string through each post and tie effortlessly into the overall design of Some Shananagins.
- More networking: What’s a blog without networking?! 2016 is going to be full of more networking and putting myself out there as a blogger/writer. That means more interaction with Facebook blogging groups, Twitter conversations and commenting on more blogs I like. (I read quiet a few of them too!)
- Keep in mind: Quality over Quantity: 3-4 posts a week is awesome but this year I want to focus more on the quality of posts rather than the quantity of posts. I may post one time one week but 4 times the next.
