September Book: Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer
I have a thing for autobiographies. I love reading about people’s lives and what they did to get to where they are now. This brings me to my September book of choice, Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer. I have always loved Amy Schumer. When I found out that she scored a book deal I knew I’d be reading it.
First let me start off by saying I admire a girl who can stand up for herself and be confident no matter what people say. Amy is a great role model for that! In her book she shares stories from her life so far about why she is where she is. She shares all of the jobs she had while working her way to her comedy career. Amy acknowledges the hard work she had to put in to her career and the things she had to do to get there. All the stand up jobs and traveling that got her to where she is now.
I love how open and honest Amy is in this book. Being famous pretty much means your life is under a magnifying glass. Amy owns up to her life and everything about it. She shares her personal experience with being physically abused by a boyfriend in her twenties that gave me chills. It was such a raw and intense story to share to with the world but one that needs to be heard.
On a lighter note, Amy’s book is incredibly hilarious. She writes like she talks and jokes! When she shares a story about her father soiling himself at a theme park…I was almost in tears! Humor has always been Amy’s specialty and it shows in this book.
If you love Amy’s comedy check out this book. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a laugh or just someone who wants to get to know her a little better!
