March Book Review: Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham
All the Gilmore Girl’s fans reading this post, raise your hands! Everyone? I knew it! If you love Lorelei Gilmore and the Gilmore Girls as much as I do, you’ll enjoy Lauren Graham’s newest book. Talking As Fast As I Can is a collection of personal essays from the actress. Here are some of the things I loved about it.
You will read this book in Lauren’s voice. You will breeze through each story quickly all while hearing Lauren’s voice in your head! She writes how she speaks so it’s not too hard to do! I loved that how each essay reflected her voice so well.
Lauren gives great advice! Since I read this on my Kindle, I have the ability to highlight anything. I use this feature for quotes or any advice I want to look back on later. Lauren had great advice! Best advice from her book: Keep going! Keep going! Keep going!
She recaps every single season of Gilmore Girls. Literally. Every. Single. Season. From the fashion to what she loved the most…she shares it all! As a die-hard Gilmore Girl’s fan I found this chapter (and “What it was like, Part Two”) to be my favorite. You get an inside look to how Lauren saw each season. She notes the things that were memorable and recaps each season finale. If you’re currently watching it, this chapter will compliment what you’re watching.
Lauren was very emotional filming “A Year in the Life.” In the final chapter, she shares her journal entries while filming the Netflix series. I couldn’t help but feel the same! This series means so much to Lauren and all of the actors/directors/crew involved. You see it in each episode but also in Lauren’s recollections.
My Recommendation: For all my die-hard Gilmore Girls or Parenthood fans out there, read this! You will laugh, you will tear up and you will cherish everything Lauren has to say advice wise. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I’ll probably read it again when I binge the entire series…which I will do again!
