Happy Monday! Today I am checking up on my health and fitness goals for this year. I’ve been slacking a bit on these I’ll admit! I’ve got 6 months to get these goals achieved. Let’s do this!
Refine at-home yoga practice- I’m not doing so hot on this one. I have been going to yoga classes more though! I don’t exactly have a dedicated space to practice at home. If I roll my mat out in the living room I’ll have a 20 lb. Boston trying to attack my legs. He’s not very zen!
A new direction to try and achieve this goal is to get on my mat every day no matter what! If that means laying in shavassana or sitting in a comfortable seated position…that’s still yoga. Shout out to Rachel Brathen aka Yoga girl for that suggestion.
Get to a Dermatologist- I STILL need to schedule an appointment. I practically lived in the sun as a kid. It didn’t help that in high school I was on the beach almost every weekend. My skin has taken a beating. As I am getting older and trying to be more healthy that includes taking care of my skin.
Eat More Veggies (Recipes)– This IS something I’ve done more of this year! Zoodles are a huge hit in my house now. My mom gifted me with a spiralizer for Christmas and we use it about once a week. I’ll share a few of my favorite veggie recipes in the coming weeks.
Work on hamstring flexibility- Slowly but surely I am working on this each time I practice yoga. I try to do more hamstring stretches instead of avoiding them because they may feel uncomfortable.
Continue gaining weight/muscle- This goal will forever be a work in progress for me. #petiteproblems
Train & Run 5K– I am still interested in doing this and Judd has expressed interest in doing one with me. I am thinking maybe a 5k in the fall when the weather gets cooler. Also, I want to run the Star Wars 10K eventually. Baby steps!
