Today’s yoga challenge is staff pose. Start off by sitting on the ground and extending your legs directly out in front of you. Sit up nice and tall and flex your feet. From here hinge at the hips and reach for your toes. Feel free to use your strap for this stretch if you haven’t reached your toes just yet. I will utilize my strap in this pose if my hamstrings feel too tight during my practice.
I really enjoy the staff pose because it allows me to sit up straight. I have a tendency to slouch even though I had years of ballet training. It’s nice to sit in staff pose and just close your eyes and focus inward. This pose helps me stay grounded and gives me a moment to remember my intention for practice.
