Day 26 of my July Yoga Challenge and I cannot believe this is the last week. (Bummed but so proud I have carried on with it this long!) Today’s pose is the camel pose. My back is still pretty weak so this pose is always a challenge for me. But I have noticed small differences in this pose and other lower back focused poses have gotten better for me since I started yoga classes.
To get set get on your knees and make sure they are directly under your hips. Start by placing your hands on your lower back, thighs or on the backs of your heels. Make sure you squeeze your butt tight to support your back. To come out of this pose use your core and come up slowly. Gently tuck your chin prior to this pose to stretch out the back of your neck.
By the way, can anyone spot the Boston Terrier in this photo? He’s watching me practice yoga like a good boy.
