I am a lover of all things homemade when it comes to cooking and baking. My mom always made pasta sauce from scratch and would freeze the extras for a later date. This past Valentine’s day, I made my mom’s famous pasta sauce. (And a husband with a happy stomach!) But on my quest for kitchen badassery…I decided to try a new pasta sauce recipe with limited ingredients. I came across former Laguna Beach star, Lo Bosworth’s blog The Lo Down and found her homemade tomato sauce recipe. I was dying to try it! So for our first meal in our new place, I got out my largest pot and dove right in!
The recipe is simple and quick to make. I added some whole Italian sausage to the sauce for my husband and it added a nice flavor. I also used olive oil to saute the onions and garlic instead of butter. This sauce is nice and light compared to other sauces I have made or bought AND I didn’t get heartburn after eating it!
