Happy Sunday! This week has been an eventful one and I am ending it with a good yoga class and my Sunday Lately post for The Blogger Tribe. Sunday Lately’s are posted each Sunday in The Blogger Tribe Facebook Group. You can check them out here and learn more about joining the Blogger Tribe!
The themes:: Creating, Finding, Switching, Forgetting, Craving.
Creating…an at-home yoga routine. I’ve been consistently attending yoga class 2-3 times a week on average since the beginning of the year and I want to continue my practice on my own when I can’t get to the studio. My goal is to one day go through teacher training to be able to share my love of yoga with others. I would love to teach one day even if it is just on the weekends!
Finding…that my love of photography has changed drastically. Over the last few years I’ve found myself almost upset about my photography. I have a harder time picking up my camera. Maybe it’s that I had more creative freedom when I wasn’t working 40 hours a week. I’ve battled with this for the last 3 years. If I pick my camera up and photograph something for the blog I end up hating it. If I happen to pick up a small photo job I am usually left displeased with my work. Problem is I feel as though I have lost the desire to pick up my camera. I’ve lost the desire to get out and create images.
When I started photography at 14, I shot strictly film. The process of shooting carefully through a roll of 35 mm film, developing my own film then working in the darkroom to create prints. It was time-consuming but it was glorious! I fell in love with the art form. I craved to do more of it. I went to college for it for 2.5 years. It was a grueling program where my work was vulnerable. I felt exposed, poked, prodded with critiques. I grew tired of it. That’s when I felt the love slip away slowly. I had switched to digital my second semester of the program and stopped shooting film altogether.
Any one else go through something similar with a hobby or creative craft?
Switching…our weekend plans. We had planned on getting up early yesterday and driving down to Epcot for Flower & Garden. Judd’s work had other plans. His phone rang at 6am to his boss calling him about potentially coming into work. We made the decision to stay in town just in case they needed him to come in. (Which they ended up not needing.) We still made the best of it: we found luggage, passport holders and some clothes for vacation. Overall it was a wonderful day despite the change in plans. We switched our Flower & Garden trip to a few weeks from now.
Forgetting…to change the clocks. We are so spoiled by our phones now that I usually forget to change our oven clock back. Hopefully I remember that before I get into my car tomorrow and thing I am leaving for work too early!
Craving…a beach trip. This is the first weekend this year that the weather has been in the 80s. With vacation season almost upon us it’s time I get out and get a little sun. In moderation of course!
Here’s to a wonderful week and another installment of Sunday Lately!
