A few weeks ago I ordered a cookbook by Chrissy Teigen called Cravings. It’s one that I just HAD to get my hands on and start cooking from. When it came in the mail last week I just knew I would be cracking it open as soon as I could! We decided to try out the King’s Hawaiian BLPTs. You’re probably wondering what a BLPT is.
This is a new take on the classic BLT. Here’s what you will need:
Kings Hawaiian Rolls
Start off by baking your bacon. Chrissy recommends adding chopped garlic to it and let me tell you…it’s worth it! Bake for 15-20 minutes depending upon what time of bacon you buy. What you get is a garlic bacon combo that is worth drooling over! Next, spread your pineapple slices on a baking sheet and broil them in the oven. Or you can grill them. Slice your tomato and onion. Take a few lettuce leaves off the head of lettuce and shred until you get the right size for your rolls. Place rolls on baking sheet and dust with melted butter and broil until they are golden brown. Assemble sandwiches and enjoy!
The Verdict: This was a home run recipe! It was quick to make and tasted absolutely delicious. I followed Chrissy’s recommendation and added garlic to my bacon. It made the bacon savory and delicious. I don’t think I’ll ever cook bacon without garlic anymore! The pineapple added a nice sweet touch to the salty bacon. The sweet and salty combo makes for a delicious sandwich. The only thing I adjusted was I did not add butter to the rolls and bake them. It still tasted delicious!
