Thanksgiving weekend in Florida was a warm one! I’m talking 75 degrees and sunny most of the days we were down. One of my favorite things to do back home is eat at our favorite restaurants. We have a few we frequent but one that Judd had a real hankering for.
Sandbar Sports Grill
Just a hop, skip and a jump from Ron Jons Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach, FL lies a tiny little beach shack. You wouldn’t think much of it even once you step foot inside. But when the temperatures are perfect and the sun is shining it’s the ideal day to experience Sandbar Sports Grill.
Known for their Monster Fish Tacos, Sandbar is not only a tourist attraction but also a local favorite. The restaurant sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and is open and airy for those perfect Florida days.
The ambiance at Sandbar is laid-back. Since it’s so close to the beach most customers stroll in after catching some sun. It’s also a great place to watch college or professional football. They have tv’s lining the walls. We managed to catch a few rivalry games while we ate!
My dad was the first person to introduce these Monster Fish Tacos to us. He’s not a man of change so when he finds something he likes you celebrate it! He was so excited to hear we wanted to grab some tacos from Sandbar while home for Thanksgiving!
It’s no secret what we ordered! My dad and Judd both ordered the fish tacos with a side of rice, beans and fried plantains.
I ordered a single shrimp taco and my mom got a single order of fish tacos. They have this magic sauce on the tacos that makes them taste so yummy!
It’s always so nice visiting home especially after moving away at the beginning of this year. Places change with time but familiar favorites like Sandbar made us feel right at home. Florida will always be home to us. It’s where our story started. It’s home to our families. And it holds many memories we will cherish for a lifetime!
If you’re vacationing in Cocoa Beach or even Orlando, make the drive for some monster fish tacos. They’ll be worth the trip! You can view their menu here.
