Happy Monday and Thanksgiving Week! Can you believe we are almost a month away from Christmas? Where did the time go! Today I am sharing part 3 of our home tour. Those rooms include the guest bedroom and the office.
We have a 3-bedroom home so we have space for an office and guest room when family visits. Both rooms have the original paint that they did when the house was built. One day we will paint these rooms but for now they will stay the color they are.
Every blogger needs a space to write in their home! When we found this house I knew the front room with the gorgeous lighting would be our home office. I pictured myself writing at the desk with the windows open and the smell of magnolias filling the room.
I try to keep my writing desk clutter-free. I try to surround myself with pictures of the people I love. The below is from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2014 with my parents and Judd. Matt is missing because he was skating in the parade that night!
Over the desk are the obligatory “I paid way to much money for this piece of paper” otherwise known as diplomas. In between them is my graduation picture frame. Judd and I both graduated from college the same day just hours apart. (He was the college of Health and I was Arts & Sciences.) I love these pictures so much! They were taken by my dad the day before we actually graduated and campus was quiet.
I’m so particular about this bookshelf! I will arrange it then re-arrange it in a few weeks. It’s a personal problem…I’m working on it.
The top shelf is a space from 2 very special photos. The ones on the left are my grandparents walking out from their wedding. It’s such a sweet candid moment! The ones on the right are Judd’s grandparents on their wedding day.
In the center is a picture of us for our engagement photos. We made these Yankees shirts with our last name on them as well as the year. It sits on top of a few of my favorite books. Who else out there loves Shel Silverstein as much as I still do?!
I put each book in by color to give the room some color. On the door I hung this adorable sign. It’s such a true statement! This house is a home with Gus.
I wanted this room to be cozy and welcoming for family. The bookshelf also acts as a TV stand. The fabric drawers keep the room from looking cluttered. I can’t stand a cluttered room!
The shelf by the closet was left by the previous owners and it was perfect for this Paper Love Song print and a teacup with flowers. The end table doesn’t quite go with the rest of the house but it used to be my mom’s for years. I hold onto it for memory!
This sign was a gift from Judd’s grandmother when we moved to South Carolina. It’s a fun play on my blog name and perfect for our guest room!
Both the guest room and office space won’t be painted yet. I figure if one day we decide to have kids that’s when I can repaint those rooms!
