When I was 6 my dad brought home his first dream car. It was a gorgeous red 1994 Ford Mustang. Every weekend he washed and waxed the car in order to show it at car shows around the county. I spent a lot of time outside watching my dad perfect his car for auto shows. It was then that I realized how much I loved the car. From that day forward I swore up and down that one day I too would own my very own Mustang.
I got a fair share of “window shopping” in for my future ‘stang at Myrtle Beach Mustang Week a few weeks ago. Generally a week-long event held in the fall, Mustang Week is the area’s largest Mustang car show. There are a multitude of events during the week ranging from autocross races to car shows.
Line ‘Em Up!
The weather was unbelievably gorgeous! It was in the low 70s and the sun was shinning bright as thousands of mustang owners drove their stallions into the Myrtle Beach Convention Center parking lot.
From Classic Mustangs…
The show had Mustangs ranging from classics to the new models. We spent time drooling over how pristine all of the classic Mustang were. Their owners worked hard to get their cars in perfect shape for Mustang Week! I just love a 1967 but sadly didn’t see one at the show.
You pay about $5 to park for the car show (back lot for non-Mustang drivers). It’s worth it for all the cars you see and the awesome owners you meet. We met a few original owners of some of the classics which was pretty cool!
….To Newer Models.
How gorgeous is this blue?! It’s probably unusual for a girl to be enthralled by cars but I’m proof that they do exist! I’ve always enjoyed learning about cars and proving people wrong when they say girls don’t know cars.
We stopped by the Ford tent where they had 2018’s on display. This red beauty would be a dream in my new driveway! (A girl can dream AND work hard to one day achieve that dream.)
Some owners even had a little fun with their cars. This driver decked his Stang out in a “Walking Dead” zombie theme. Every detail was carefully crafted into this awesome car!
Zombie Pony. This was hand painted by the owner. How cool is that?!
Even the headlights had some dead in their eyes!
Overall, Myrtle Beach Mustang week was pretty awesome. The weather was perfect, the people were friendly and the cars were gorgeous. Any proud Mustang owner would be happy to show off his or her car during this fun-filled week!
