Happy December! Can you believe this year is coming to close already? I feel like just yesterday I was setting these goals. 2017 has been a pretty awesome year. It was a year of a lot of changes which also resulted in a lot of growth. Today I am going to recap how I did on the person goals I set for myself in January. Here’s how I did:
Pass. Despite putting off plans for a formal vacation so we could buy our first home, we did a lot of traveling within South Carolina and North Carolina. We went to Wilmington twice, Raleigh and Columbia. It was nice being able to see a new portion of the country I had never seen before.
Read a Book Each Month
Pass with the exception of September! I did better at it then I did last year. September was a bit crazy with Hurricanes and closing on our home but missing 1 month doesn’t seem like a failure to me! I enjoyed a lot of the books I read this year which consisted of a LOT of biographies!
Serve My new Community, Volunteer
50% Pass. Working in radio means getting out in the community for different types of events. I only volunteered at one event but this week I am attending the Wigs for Cancer Gala with 2 of my fellow ladies in radio.
Say “Yes” More
Big time pass! After a year of saying yes to new experiences and a giant move away from my comfort zone I feel like I have grown so much! I said yes to a number of things. From moving to South Carolina to agreeing to marry someone on live radio. (I’m a notary here in SC!) It’s been en exciting year of yes indeed!
Continue to Be Open-Minded
Pass! Last November my life started to take on some changes. When I kept an open mind to these changes I found that I accepted them a lot easier. Being open-minded help me get through our move to SC, my transition to a new job and trying new things. I love this mantra and I want to continue living this way for the rest of my life.
Get to Know Myrtle Beach
Pass! Since we moved in January we’ve gone to many events locally, eaten at lots of local joints and gotten used to our new home. So much so that we bought our first home here. While I don’t know if Myrtle Beach will be our home forever it’s perfect for us in this season of life. South Carolina in general has welcomed us with open arms. While I miss my family I’m so glad we made this move!
