Nestled off A1A just a few miles from the Atlantic Beach lies an eatery so unique it’s worth sharing. Trasca & Co. is a local eatery known for it’s hand-crafted Paninos. Well, what in the world is a panino? It’s a thinly rolled piece of dough baked until golden brown then rolled into a sandwich filled with meats, cheeses and veggies. Similar to the panini it’s pressed and warm upon serving making it the perfect lunch option. There’s something about a warm sandwich that makes my tummy very happy!
Opened in 2015, Trasca & Co has been churning out paninos and serving the Ponte Vedra Beach community proudly. It’s close proximity to TPC Sawgrass makes it a hot spot during The Player’s Championship in May. They cater to the locals but love the snowbirds and visitors to the beach. It’s one of my personal favorites to take friends and family when they visit. I’ll take you guys on a brief tour!
When you walk into the restaurant you will first notice the bar area that serves craft beers most of which is locally brewed. Step up to the counter and order away! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful if you feel undecided. Once you have ordered grab a table in the quaint dining area. They have community tables if you feel like making new friends while you eat! Dangling lights hang from the ceiling creating an experience that feels quite homey.
My favorite item to order is the Turkey Avocado Panino with a side order of chips. This panino is made with turkey, avocado, bacon, cheese and a homemade ranch dressing. I of course forgo the cheese! Judd ordered BBQ Chicken Panino which has bacon, cheddar cheese, Napaslaw and homemade BBQ sauce. It’s one of his favorites!
Trasco supports local vendors like Watt’s Juicery which is locally owned and operated out of Jacksonville Beach. I ordered the 26.2 juice which is watermelon, strawberry, coconut water, basil and lime. So yummy! I admire their commitment to using local vendors for items they provide to the community and it speaks volumes for the relationship they have with their customers. Each and every item is made with love and served with the intention to put a smile on your face.
If you find yourself vacationing in Ponte Vedra Beach or are just down for TPC in May, stop by Trasca & Co. for a bite to eat. Make some friends and get to know the culture a bit. You’ll find that the people are friendly and the food is incredible!
