Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival is probably one of my favorite experiences at the parks. Last year I conquered my first Food & Wine festival with Judd and my parents. Going to Food & Wine is an experience that I recommend anyone who loves food and wine to indulge in. Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival began on September 14th this year and goes until November 14th. For regular park admission into Epcot you can enjoy Food & Wine Festival. Grab your Magic Bands, camera and be prepared to eat and drink your way through Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival! Here’s an unofficial guide courtesy of your’s truly!
Go at an unusual time. We chose to get to the park at 4pm one evening once the crowds began to leave and it wasn’t too bad. Weekends will be the busiest times to go but that much is obvious. If you want to get to the parks early and spend the day, get to Epcot when the park opens.
Pick up a Food & Wine Gift Card. Nothing is worse than whipping out your wallet over and over again. That’s why Epcot offers a small gift card that you can wear on your wrist to pay for your food and beverages at the festival. Pick one up as soon as you get into the park and load it up with some cash. They offer 2 different types: a Mini Gift Card and a Festival Gift Card. The Mini can be activated with as little as $15 on it and comes with a wristlet which is easy to carry. The Festival one can be activated with a minimum of $200 but comes with a lanyard and carry sleeve. Extra Tip: We purchased a Mini gift card last year with about $100 on it for 4 people to split. We were able to get good use out of that amount for everyone.
Grab a Food & Wine Passport Booklet. Stop by any kiosk in Epcot and pick up your Food & Wine Festival passport booklet. This will show you each of the foods and drinks at every booth. You can even get your passport stamped at each booth. Make it a game! See how many stamps you can get.
Check out demonstrations, talks or seminars. As a part of Food & Wine Festival, Epcot offers Culinary demonstrations, beverage seminars, cheese seminars and other types of talks. Keep in mind some of these demonstrations require reservations and tend to fill up quickly. Book in advance if you plan on trying one out!
I will be heading to Food & Wine Festival on October 22nd. Look forward to a blog post all about it in the near future!
