It’s day 12 of my yoga challenge and I am bringing you Side Angle or Utthita Parsvakonasana. This is a wonderful stretch for the side of your body. Begin in Warrior II and gently lower your front arm to the instep of your foot. Lift the opposite arm up towards the ceiling but keep your chest lifted. This is a great pose for me personally because I have a tendency to slouch in my posture.
Side angle can also be modified for an extra challenge. Place the opposite hand on the instep of your foot and lift the opposite arm up to the sky. This modification provides a twist to the torso and challenges the chest to stay open.
