We’ve hit the 2 week mark of our yoga challenge and today I am bringing you Half Moon or Ardha Candrāsana. This posture is on the challenging side but it can be achieved through many modifications leading you to the final pose. Start in a standing forward fold. Plant one hand on the ground directly in front of your foot. Extend one leg behind you, foot pointed down and leg even with your hips. When you feel steady, rotate leg and hip out to face the side. When you feel ready lift your arm up to the ceiling in line with your shoulders and look up at your hand.
This posture used to be very difficult to me! When I did this challenge last year I wasn’t quite sure how to achieve this pose. But now I am lucky to have a teacher who helped instruct me through this pose and how to do it correctly. If you feel unsteady try this posture against a wall. The security of it helps!
Let’s see your Half Moon poses! Show us below.
