Day 20 of my yoga challenge is here and it’s got me in Locust Pose or Salabhasana. This is a great back bend pose that I once disliked. Why did I dislike it? Well, I’ve always had a really weak lower back. In ballet classes growing up I would always struggle with backbends at the bar. Then I started practicing yoga and each backbend got easier to do.
Begin laying on your tummy on your mat and your arms down by your side. Take a deep breath in and lift your chest, legs and arms up on the exhale. Do a couple rounds of these and you’ll begin to feel your back muscles strengthen over time. I really enjoy this posture now!
