Day 5 of my yoga challenge is Cobra pose or Bhujangasana. This posture used to always be a difficult one for me because my lower back was pretty weak. Since taking my yoga practice to another level, this posture has quickly become a favorite of mine! With practice your back’s flexibility will increase and you will notice a difference especially in a pose like this.
Cobra pose is fairly simple. Start my laying on your stomach, tops of your feet on the mat and your arms and hands near your shoulders. Gently lift your upper body up off the mat keeping your shoulders. This is a great posture to train your flexibility for upward facing dog. I like to incorporate Cobra pose into my sun salutations.
