It’s the 9th day of my yoga challenge and today I am conquering crescent lunge pose or Anjaneyasana. This is one of my favorite postures to do! For my normal sequence, I work through these lunges from my downward dog. Lift one leg up in the air then gently place your foot on the mat between your hands. Once you feel balanced, raise your arms up towards the ceiling and bend back slightly.
I love the way this pose feels on my back and my legs. Crescent lunge always makes me feel strong and almost invincible. Occasionally I will add in a twist to this posture which helps aid digestion and stretches out the back nicely. A great way to prep for this posture is to set your knee down in your lunge and lift your arms. Test out your balance until you feel strong enough to lift your knee off the ground.
